Today while I was driving between work locations, I had the opportunity to stop and take photos of this bridge I had seen before. I always wonder what made the DOT change it's mind for the hwy. Why they just didn't repair the road. What made it better to change it's direction. To take this picture I had to jump a crevasse about 2 feet across. Not much, but still looked a little scary. I felt uneasy as I walked out into the bridge 1/3 of the way across. Hoping the concrete and asphalt were still strong enough to hold my weight. There were no signs that warned you to stay off. Here are a couple of pictures.....
If you click on the picture there should be a map to show where the location of this bridge is. It's accurate within about 1800 ft or so. I took these in black and white as anything I see old and falling apart like this, I like to emphasize the age by using a black and white photo as this gives it a more aged feel when viewing. The bridge was built in 1928

I saw this comment following a news article dealing with the California Supreme Court decision about gay marriage:
"Gay couples should have the same tax/government rights as heterosexual married people, but marriage is a religious word defined by a man and a woman's union under God. It's pretty simple, gay unions shouldn't be called marriage, it should be called a union. "
The problem I have with the argument that 'marriage' is an exclusively religious term is that, well... its not. Marriage has been a secular, legal, economic institution for a long time in this country. People may choose to have their marriage performed and blessed in a religious context if they so desire. By the argument of the above person 2 atheists who have a completely secular marriage ceremony presided over by a secular government official aren't really married, but legally and by common consent the 2 are married, so just based on that no one can make the argument that the term marriage is the specific property of religious institutions.
In the end, all a specific religious institution can decide is whether they themselves will preform same sex marriages or recognize them within their organization, they have no right to dictate whom the government gives marriage licenses out to.
P.S. Just out of curiousity I looked up the word marriage in the Oxford Dictionary and there was not a single mention of religion in the definition, while the legal/ government aspect of it was mentioned.
I totally respect and agree with this opinion!
In a shocking move, Windows Vista support has been officially (but temporarily) removed from Nokia Software Update, with Nokia citing instability. This will slam an awful lot of users, including me. Let's hope they iron out the problem sooner rather than later.
If you didn't already know, Apple Inc. is slated to release an update to the iPhone on June 27th. So if your like me and want some of the latest technology you will have to sell off your phone to someone who couldn't afford an iPhone the first time around. The new iPhone will be 3G. It will still be exclusive to AT&T. Although if you are another GSM network user like me (T-Mobile), you can buy unlocked versions at http://www.cellhut.com. While AT&T rushed out there version of 3G for their network, just know it may not be compatible 3G worldwide. T-Mobile chose to wait and I believe will use the same frequencies as Europe. But back to the phone. So just know the sales of the iPhone will stop before the release of the newer version to hype sales. I am sure there are other features to come that will be good. The offer this time is also better. AT&T was able to drop $200 off the price tag and offer the new 3G iPhone for $199 with a 2yr service contract. So brace yourself for the typical media hype. Try to look past it and buy the phone if you want it, not because it was marketed to you!
This was the news talking about the area I live in about the severe weather headed right for me!
If you have a nokia phone and can't scan the links....go here to get a scanner for your phone.....
